Today I had a little chat with our good friend @Zen00 about the life of the community. And that got me thinking. What can we do, to make our online life and especially our life on TWS more engaging?

    By a regular DM 😉

Do we need deeper conversations? Can we even have deeper conversations in this way? What could the rest of us do to make you feel more at home here? What could we do to allow you to share more with us?

It depends on your intention tho.

Does TWS need more features to connect people better? In what ways does technology help us and in what ways could it be improved?

Well for me they should enhance technology but.. TWS nowadays is enough

    @pe7erpark3r

I think that the majority of people are in TWS "for the memes"

You sure it's for the memes, cause I'd go to 9gag.com for that or some similar site?

But I have nothing against making fun topics more engaging. I liked Waffles or Pancakes and I wouldn't call meme-related posts uninteresting. So let's add this to the question:

How can we make TWS more fun?

Hunting down philosophically interested peeps seems too much of a hustle. That's not exactly what this question is about anyways. Rather it's about what the peeps who are here would like to have to engage more, or what they would like to see less.

That really is a good idea.

In relation to TWS/Technology I think adding a philosophical category would be nice, since there are quite a few philosohpical topics in recent days. I have suggested that to the ppl from TWS, so plz upvote my post there if you would also like to see this.

    Roger that man ;)
    Greeting from me btw.

  • @pe7erpark3r people are people, we all have personal agenda apart from tws.. For me, to make our online life engaging we must be sociable.. We can start from replying topics neither it interest us or not, in that way we can exchange ideas plus we learn to respect others opinions too.. We also need to appreciate some newcomers topics and not just focus on topics made by our friends..(equality sake)..
Next who doesnt like fun?? none I guess so yes tws must be fun in a good way that we cannot offend others or hurt them (refrain personal attacks) .
Deep conversation always starts on dms..

    Just my opinion :-)

  • @G-A thanks for the support!

That is a good idea! However most of us obviously just don't have the time to reply to all topics. And for me personally to express what I really think takes more than a phrase, so I just naturally spend more time on less topics without wanting to exclude others.

Yeah I hear ya, we need conversation culture.

Second one to say that :relaxed:

Yes, i'm pretty sure. I have lots of friends that majorly use facebook to browse memes, simply cuz they can and it's confortable and funny knowing and seeing what ppl they know share about that matter.

This is exacly why I mentioned the hunting of people. You see TWS is a social network. I don't think they can improve many more in terms of features. Yes, they can keep adding stuff like "stories" similar to instagram, they can allow us to control what we show in our profile like facebook does, but... at the end of the day, we have all the tools to keep this community going and engaging, cuz that's exacly the key to everything. It's about the people that make the community! Even tho the developers can fix "bugs" (freezing problem that seems to be fixed as of right now), they can find ways to make spammers life hard enough for them not to waste their time spamming, and keep solving problems that may arrise, but it's the PEOPLE job too keep the community engaging and fun imo!

  • @Lurker So you would say, we should hunt for people? Have you done that yet? How would you do it?

Yes I certainly agree, that it is our job to make this community worthwhile.

I agree, that TWS is OK technology wise. One thing that feels lacking however is that I have no list of things, that the people I follow like and no list of posts they made (only topics). But apart from that I can live with it as it is. Also this happens all the time to me:

Looks like your connection to Free Chat Rooms Online - StrangerBook - Social Community was lost, please wait while we try to reconnect.

  • @pe7erpark3r said in How can it get more interesting?:

So you would say, we should hunt for people? Have you done that yet? How would you do it?

Uhhh, not exacly. What i'm trying to say is that we shouldn't be afraid to engage and approach people we find interesting and unique in order to form new bounds!
Most of the ppl in here know me as someone that likes to lurk and overall a lonewolf, but if I don't ever try to approach people I find interesting, mby those ppl won't approach me as well so then If i'm in a social community without people to see what I share and do what's the point? :D

  • @Luker Hmm, I wonder about that approaching thing. Because since I have joined TWS I wasn't really approached by anyone (as in DM), except for: Two people (new accounts) who wrote "hello" and "hey wassup", I wrote back (right away) and that's the end of the story, they never responded. Do people approach you?

  • @pe7erpark3r said in How can it get more interesting?:

    Do people approach you?

Some do, and I also approach others! You don't need to necessarily count approaching someone a dm, it can be hitting you up in a topic or starting to follow you :)

  • @Lurker If I had to guess, I'd assume that the accounts being mostly approached are those showing some cleavage (or the like) or have a username like "f17 from greece"

    HAHAHAHA
Not always no, sometimes those random pop out, but see my previous reply to understand what I meant :D

Maybe I have an air of untouchability around myself even in the virtual world?

Well then I have been approached,
