Personally I have never been in a romantic type of relationship, and I am an only child. So in my experience the best way to deal with lonelyness is simply to learn to be comfortable with your self as an individual. And to remember that, to love some one is a beautiful thing but to love who you are is invaluable to the person you are AND the people you care for.
