I can classify hurricanes better than computers or AI can.
I can sense when birds know a predator is near.
By holding my nose I can blow air out of my eye's tear ducts.

RE: Does the internet make you sadder or happier?
I really enjoy the internet! Old enough to remember the Dewey systems in libraries. What a difference accessing information is now. Not to mention connecting with people you never could with before. Tremendous difference! We are so fortunate to have it!!

RE: What do you do in your free time?
I took up trail building. I really enjoy making trails with minimal disruption of living things. It has helped with avoiding stepping on snakes. My trails are extensive.
At night I follow astronomy. Sit in the hot tub/pool looking for fireballs and shooting stars. And have reported quite a few at American Meteor Society.

RE: What's the point of living if you're going to die?
The point of life is found when we understand our true reality. Mindfulness of the moment can help connect our internal reality with the world.
Every moment here is an once in a lifetime moment.
Mindful of the moment is all we have.
You are unique and one of a kind in the universe.
As a STEM teacher I taught that understanding and appreciating adversity and prosperity will open choices of opportunities to determine your purpose. What do you like to do when time flies by and 100% of your attention is absorbed by what you're doing?
This could help determine your purpose. Once you figure out your purpose, then you have a point for living.

RE: What was your first job?
I've had a few of those kinda of jobs. Sometimes you don't get what you don't pay for.

RE: What was your first job?
@The-Mods I know that experience. I was training to be an Air Traffic Controller. 30 years underground then you might make the tower. Ended up getting fired by Reagan as working conditions were abysmal.

What's the worst thing you ever stepped on barefooted?
Gruesome warning!
Underwater shipwreck. Cut my foot to artery. Didn't go in until next day- big mistake. Severe pain cleaning the wound. Later Dr. asked if I wanted to be knocked out. Big tough fool I was and said No! Never cussed so much in my life. Squeezed the hand of a loved one so much they were in pain. I remember being in the shower and the blood shot on the wall with every heartbeat. Later to apologize I took the dr. and his son kayaking!
A sibling stepped on a pitchfork and it went all the way thru- Yikes!

RE: What do you think about the incoming Chinese rocket booster debris?
It's true the more velocity, the more likely it could burn up. 20 tons though is unlikely to completely burn. Luckily the Earth is mostly water. Unlucky if it lands on you! Lots of incoming,

RE: What was your first job?
@Janet If I close my mouth I don't seem to cry slicing yellow onions. I am a fan of green onions but they're not quite the same taste as yellow! Try a grilled cheese with diced yellow onion. Have you tried fried whole kernel corn?

RE: What was your first job?
I can see some art there. Did you go to sleep seeing the sandwiches you made? I like to see shooting stars then when I close my eyelids I see them again.

What was your first job?
Mine was watering for Betty Crocker. I was 10 and I thought she was the one and only but I think she was their model. Pay was $10 an hour- it took about an hour.
First paying job was at Novak's across the street from Tamarack beach in Carlsbad, CA. My job was to clean the grounds.Pay was a cheeseburger, fries and chocolate shake.
Another early job was delivering the LA Times in Carlsbad. Sunday was tough and I remember having to ride on one side of my bike to avoid dogs.

RE: What's the biggest challenge you have overcome?
Sorry to hear of your loss.
I saw somewhere on here that parents are your best advocate. So true!
