Blast from the Past
Danny Deckchair
Pleasantville
@Janet Danny Deckchair is Australian and it's much like the others. Although it's different from the usual Hollywood plot. I think you'll like it!
I got an Orba,
First time I played on a nearby mountain top. I was immediately swarmed by bees! I really enjoy my Orba!
Pay attention to details. Life is what happens while we make our plans. Adversity opens doors of opportunity. Smell the roses, watch the sky.
Mine was watering for Betty Crocker. I was 10 and I thought she was the one and only but I think she was their model. Pay was $10 an hour- it took about an hour.
First paying job was at Novak's across the street from Tamarack beach in Carlsbad, CA. My job was to clean the grounds.Pay was a cheeseburger, fries and chocolate shake.
Another early job was delivering the LA Times in Carlsbad. Sunday was tough and I remember having to ride on one side of my bike to avoid dogs.
It's in the eye of the beholder as all things are beautiful in their own way. IMHO the more beauty you find in the ordinary the more you can appreciate beauty!
Learning to embrace adversity as this is counter intuitive. Adversity brings opportunity. One door closes and another opens. Lost my Dad early in life but raised by a pack of women to be a positive person!
I'm going to an adult only party later and I have a great costume! Happy Halloween!
@The-Mods Wow! First job security guard! Hope you had some training!
Deep Survival Gonzalez? A great book for survival techniques. Can be used in a variety of situations!
I really enjoy the internet! Old enough to remember the Dewey systems in libraries. What a difference accessing information is now. Not to mention connecting with people you never could with before. Tremendous difference! We are so fortunate to have it!!
The point of life is found when we understand our true reality. Mindfulness of the moment can help connect our internal reality with the world.
Every moment here is an once in a lifetime moment.
Mindful of the moment is all we have.
You are unique and one of a kind in the universe.
As a STEM teacher I taught that understanding and appreciating adversity and prosperity will open choices of opportunities to determine your purpose.
What do you like to do when time flies by and 100% of your attention is absorbed by what you're doing?
This could help determine your purpose. Once you figure out your purpose, then you have a point for living.
Sorry to hear of your loss.
I saw somewhere on here that parents are your best advocate. So true!

Gruesome warning!
Underwater shipwreck. Cut my foot to artery. Didn't go in until next day- big mistake. Severe pain cleaning the wound. Later Dr. asked if I wanted to be knocked out. Big tough fool I was and said No! Never cussed so much in my life. Squeezed the hand of a loved one so much they were in pain. I remember being in the shower and the blood shot on the wall with every heartbeat. Later to apologize I took the dr. and his son kayaking!
A sibling stepped on a pitchfork and it went all the way thru- Yikes!
I took up trail building. I really enjoy making trails with minimal disruption of living things. It has helped with avoiding stepping on snakes. My trails are extensive.
At night I follow astronomy. Sit in the hot tub/pool looking for fireballs and shooting stars. And have reported quite a few at American Meteor Society.
I've built them wherever I lived Hawaii, California and Arizona. I might of missed my calling I enjoy it so much.
