WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS

God created the universe, including the earth, in the indefinite past—“in the beginning,” as Genesis 1:1 says. Modern science agrees that the universe had a beginning. A recent scientific model suggests it to be almost 14 billion years old.

The Bible also describes six “days” of creation. However, it does not say that these were 24-hour days. (Genesis 1:31) In fact, the Bible uses the word “day” to refer to various lengths of time. For example, it calls the entire period of creation “the day that Jehovah God made earth and heaven.” (Genesis 2:4) Evidently, these “days” of creation lasted many thousands of years.—Psalm 90:4.

WHY IT MATTERS

The false ideas of creationists could lead you to dismiss the Bible altogether. On the other hand, if the Bible actually contains a credible account of creation, you stand to benefit from its storehouse of “practical wisdom.”—Proverbs 3:21.

The gender of God can be viewed as a literal or as an allegorical aspect of a deity. In polytheistic religions, the gods are more likely to have literal sexual genders which would enable them to interact with each other, and even with humans, in a sexual way. In most monotheistic religions, there is no comparable being for God to relate to in a literal gender-based way, so the gender of this one-and-only deity is most likely to be an analogical statement of how humans and God address, and relate to, each other, with no sexual connotations. Although God is an intangible spirit in many religions and therefore has no gender, debate over his or her "actual" sex nevertheless has passionately raged in recent decades. The preponderance of references to God in both the Old and New Testaments are in the context of a masculine reference, often "father". However, there are a significant number of feminine allegorical references to God, most often in some maternal role.

God Is Real!!

Creator Clearly Seen
God reveals Himself everywhere, all the time. He does not just whisper but shows Himself clearly for all to see, in an infinite number of ways. Our primary job as Christians is not to prove God’s design of trees and other created things. Our goal is to point sinners back to the Creator who became the Savior.

Who Created God?
When Christians claim that the God of the Bible created all the basic entities of life and the universe, some will ask what seems to be a logical question, “Who created God?” By very definition, an eternal Being has always existed—nobody created Him. God is the Self-Existent One—the great “I Am” of the Bible.

Humans are in awe when standing before creation, from the tremendous expanse of the universe to the infinitesimally tiny. When we see the enormous intelligence implanted in so-called unreasoning creatures, we appreciate that they are the result of the wisdom and power that designed them.

Do We Need the Bible to Prove God Exists?
Discarding the Bible, what evidence is there to make claim for the Christian God's existence over any other religious god? When you presuppose that the Bible must be “proven,” any sort of evidence you see can be interpreted against the Bible. But Christians, who start with the presupposition that the Bible is true, can explain the evidence.

God the Father is a title given to God in various religions, most prominently in Christianity. In mainstream trinitarian Christianity, God the Father is regarded as the first person of the Trinity, followed by the second person God the Son (Jesus Christ) and the third person God the Holy Spirit. Since the second century, Christian creeds included affirmation of belief in "God the Father (Almighty)", primarily as his capacity as "Father and creator of the universe". Yet, in Christianity the concept of God as the father of Jesus Christ goes metaphysically further than the concept of God as the Creator and father of all people, as indicated in the Apostle's Creed where the expression of belief in the "Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth" is immediately, but separately followed by in "Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord", thus expressing both senses of fatherhood.

Margaret Mary Alacoque said that in her apparitions Jesus promised these blessings to those who practice devotion to his Sacred Heart. The list was tabulated in 1863. In 1882 an American businessman spread the tabular form of the twelve promises throughout the world, in 238 languages. In 1890 Cardinal Adolph Perraud deplored this circulation of the promises in tabular form, which he said were different from the words and the meaning of the expressions used by Saint Margaret Mary, and wanted the promises to be published in their original words.

I look at my life and there seems to be a discrepancy between what God promises in the Bible and reality. I pray and ask questions like:
Are you there God?
Should I do A or B or something else?
Would you make Yourself real to me?
Do You really have a plan for my life? If so, WTF is going on?
I do my best to listen for an answer and pay attention but I don't hear anything. After experiencing silence for some time, I'm tired of depending on what appears to be an absentee God. And I don't trust God enough to give Him the benefit of the doubt by waiting around and wait for a plan that may or may not unfold.
Is it reasonable to not have any expectations of God and just be pleasantly surprised if He should pull through? Is prayer without expectation of an answer even worth doing? Should I pull a Moses and just do my own thing for a few decades?
At this point, I'm so sick of struggling, living in uncertainty, and being disappointed all the time, I'm ready to throw in the towel and live a de facto atheistic existence and just walk away.
