RE: A philosophical discussion
the nature of our existence
is to be a pile of sentient molecules infused with feelings & regrets
where we came from
we hatched from eggs
where we are going
to my bedroom ;)
Taking a poll on who believes whether or not world peace is achievable.
probably not. as long as there are conflicting groups with conflicting interests, there will never be anything resembling a world peace. we humans are quarrelsome by nature.

@Sup WHY DO I HAVE TO WRITE IT IN CAPS AND BOLD? SO YOUR SOUTH-EAST ASIAN MIDGET EYES READ IT PROPERLY.
also, really? your response to his "racism" is to be racist towards him? pardon me, but you're an asshole

RE: Didn't see one so, worst song EVER
i know that pretty much everyone is going to disagree with me on this one, but i hate most 1980's mainstream pop/rock songs, and bands from that decade in general. it's like my special little pet peeve lol

RE: What is your personality type, and why? https://www.16personalities.com/free-personality-test Inspired by Zoob
@Angelyoung13
ooh, MBTI! as a teenager, i used to be obsessed with personality types :) i'm an INFJ, i've gotten that result in every single MBTI test i've ever taken, and i've taken literally hundreds. what's your type, angel? -
RE: Question about people's motivations
@Redthreat
to answer your question, i'd have to say that there isn't really a lot of point to communicating with someone who can barely respond to you. conversations are supposed to be mutually beneficial, right? you gain new information, emotional relief, etc. but if you don't get any of that from a conversation, it's wasted time.of course, some people (introverts) take time to open up to people, and can initially appear very emotionally cold & laconic. that's fine, that's excusable, i'm one of those people too. i guess my point is that if someone is barely responsive to you, it's best to give them some space and see whether they warm up and become more sociable. if they do, yay for you! if they don't, it's best to stop

RE: Which group wanted to stop immigration?
@pe7erpark3r
i think that you've hit the nail on the head with that last paragraph. people who're opposed to immigration are demonized a lot and shunned from mainstream politics. and because they're not allowed to express their views without a torrent of hate poured on them, some of them radicalize and partner up with hate groups. normal people are turned into nazis and it's really sad. imo we need more compassion in politics, not exclusion.
we totally need a new center, i'm all for it. i absolutely loathe this whole "culture war" thing that's been going on between conservatives and liberals. i'm like an ultimate centrist myself, i think that both sides have good arguments :Dyou're from germany, i assume? what's the situation over there like concerning immigration?

RE: Should your government control your diet?
- totally true, sugar is pretty much everywhere, even in our blood :O but it wouldn't be an everything tax, it would be a tax only on overly sugary foods. you know, things like sodas, energy drinks, unhealthy sweets etc.
- agreed, fat isn't the enemy. however, deep fried foods have an excess of bad fats like saturated fats & trans fats, which makes them wayy more unhealthy for people to consume. they're also very sodium-rich and just generally unhealthy.
- 100% true, that's how it works, not gonna argue with that.
- is it though? i can understand the argument of this tax causing the government to basically profit off people's health, but that's how all sin taxes work. we tax alcohol, tobacco, gambling & prostitution (in some countries), why not add unhealthy foods to the list? raise the prices and force people who want to eat unhealthily to pay more (as they're also a larger burden to the society), then use the tax money for things like food banks, healthy food subsidies & research into sustainable foods. basically, profit off bad habits to make good habits more affordable.
We are living in the time of over production, and unequal consumption. This not only hampers the environment, but the people as well.
agreed. the fact that 1/4 of our planet suffers from over-consumption, while the other 1/4 suffers from under-consumption is completely absurd, and really unfair

biology is one thing, but according to physics, love is a gravitational force felt by two people orbiting each other -

RE: The Joker - time to discuss!!
a lovely dark thriller, and a really great movie. i really liked the general vibe of it, kinda reminiscent of "taxi driver" and other similar character study movies.
also, joaquin phoenix is an amazing actor. he's been great in every single role he's ever played, but he's super good in this one -
