RE: Do you believe in "God"?
@Futushimo Yes I believe in only one "god" who designed everything. I believe he is eternal and there is nothing comparable to him. When I use the word "him" I don't mean that that the "god" has a gender but i just use the word "him" to indicate the "god".
I also think there are some evidences(not proof) for the existence of a "god":- Symmetry and design in nature
- Complexity in nature
Our Solar System:
Human heart:
Natural battery running the human heart:
This wonderful machine i.e. the human body:
An intelligent programme in the nature written by a programmer:
Electric signal passing through this natural machine:
If one sees with the 1 eye, he may not find the creator. But the Creator may be discovered with 2 eyes.
"The creation of the heavens and earth is greater than the creation of mankind, but most of the people do not know.
And not equal are the blind and the seeing, nor are those who believe and do righteous deeds and the evildoer. Little do you remember.
Indeed, the Hour is coming - no doubt about it - but most of the people do not believe"(The Forgiver,57-60) -
RE: ANY MUSLIMS HERE????????
@mikeJB said in ANY MUSLIMS HERE????????:
so everything you do is based on the moon?
No. It is just the Arabic/Hijri lunar calendar that is based on moon. Only the month of fasting, Eid-ul-Fitr & a few other Islamic events are determined by observation of the new moon.
Arabic calendar is not the only lunar calendar. There are many other cultures with lunar calendar. I think Jewish calendar is also partly a lunar calendar.
Most Muslims are non-Arab and they only follow the lunar calendar for fixing a few religious events as i mentioned above. AFAIK most muslim cultures(including Arab Muslims) follow the solar calendar for their secular life and lunar calendar only for a few selected religious events. Most religious practices are not connected to the observation of the moon.

RE: How to help someone with bereavement ?
@Ihateualll Tell her to practise this everyday for only 10 minutes(or even much more if she wants):
- To close eyes
- To Breathe normally
- To Focus completely on the feelings of breathing
- To Count the complete breaths
- If mind wanders, it should be brought back to the feelings of breathing
- To Continue
- Make her remember that if she is a good person someday in the afterlife she will meet her relative again
- Make her remember that sorrow is just an emotion & focusing on sorrow will increase sorrow
- If she is spiritual/religious instruct her to find resilience in her religious beliefs. An important purpose of religion is to provide resilience against anything
Hope this helps

RE: ANY MUSLIMS HERE????????
@mikeJB said in ANY MUSLIMS HERE????????:
kindly tell me what the heck Eid al-Fitr is and why its all over my news feed? also tell me why you guys have to have a moon appear before you can celebrate? some Shawal moon????????????
The Arabic/Hijri calendar is a lunar calendar and not a solar calendar. Lunar calendars are based on observation of the moon just as the Gregorian calendar is based on the sun. When a new moon is observable, it means that a new lunar month has begun.
The Chinese calendar is also a lunar calendar.
The starting of The Hijri month "Ramadan" is the month for fasting for muslims. After Ramadan is over, there is a one day festival called Eid-ul-Fitr which takes place on the 1st day of the next month. -

- If your mind wanders, bring it back to the feelings of your breathing
- Continue
And lessen your intake of caffeine, alcohol, cigarette, intoxicant etc.
