@Black0_xx I read your bio. You're right about helping others just to feel worse before helping. There's a saying: dont throw your pearls to swine - they'll just trample on them. Truth.
Though on the other hand it is by helping others that you can actually help yourself The trick is finding that place/situation that is not soul sucking.

My nephew has taken on a terrible addiction. He has chosen this as a means of escape. He became quite depressed and instead of finding a way to pick himself up he has chosen a darker path.
How do I start a conversation with him about it? What would work best? So nervous to say anything (he's so closed now) but I must. Just need some encouragement. Thanks.

We are all trying to find our way home. Hopefully we all can do it together. Taking the time to listen and see ourselves in another's shoes (sort of speak). Taking time to understand that others have such different struggles and strengths than ourselves .

Tricky question. I think it comes down to blind faith. I have had the most profound experiences that say 'yes certainly a God (lack of a better word) exists'. What and how are answers that I don't have.
