@Pia I like that I am usually diligent with what I need to achieve. I like finishing tasks and getting stuff done. Sometimes I'm a bit slow to get started, just for balance Thx for the question Pia, it was a good one!

RE: If you were to define yourself in one word what would it be?
@MadMax_Sensei I like this question.
My word is focussed.
When I'm going after something, like a goal, I lock it in my mind and go after it until I achieve it.

RE: What are your plans for the weekend?
I'm going to a dance party today on the beachfront today. Gonna be awesome!

RE: What is the one thing.......
@Sassy I don't have a one thing. I've achieved most of my goals. I think I'm happy just to maintain my health and fitness after having turned it around with lots of hard work.
I ended up in hospital with severe migraines a few years back because I was not looking after myself properly.
One other thing I'd like to do is travel all over the world. I have it all planned out roughly and have the money saved. I just need all the countries to open up again.

RE: Avoiding intimacy in relationships
@glittergoddess I don't mind a bit of honest confession every now and then. Bottled up feelings: It's better to get them out than keep them in hey?

RE: This song stuck in my head
@Lolxlmao first time I've heard that song. Nice sound. Good voices and music. Lyrics for when you want something melancholy.

Live DJs help me get through lock down
Anyone else into House Music here? If so, what's your favourite song or artist?
This kind of music is great for dancing. I still go out to a Disco with friends my age and I'm in my 40s.
I'm from Melbourne and we have some awesome DJs here. My favourite is John Course. He plays online every Saturday.
Here's a sample

RE: This song stuck in my head
@Lolxlmao ok, it's not the best video clip but it does allow captions because the lyrics are hard to understand for some people. I think I danced harder to this than any other song this year. (

RE: What is wrong with ppl harassing online?
Best I can guess is the little shit never got taught any decency in his life and so now he does what he wants. As a guy, sexual urges are very real and if you don't make a conscious effort to be in control you can end up in a bad place. He needs some quality discipline. Thing is, if his parents or teachers don't do it, the authorities will have to do it later and then he'll really be in the shit.

RE: Should people feel guilty for living an ordinary life?
@Pia since there is no wrong doing in being ordinary, I don't think anyone should feel guilty for it.
But perhaps in your friend's mind an ordinary life means a dull and dreary existence. If so then it is understandable that some negative feelings would be attached to that. Not guilt but perhaps a feeling of dissatisfaction
Dissatisfied feelings could be useful to prompt you to desire change and even make changes that result in a more fulfilling lifestyle.
I hope this makes sense to you.

@Izzieen-Lay I'm confused reading your description.

RE: any gym people here?
@YourFriendYaweh me too, because covid has made the gyms here so restrictive I have bought weights and am working out at home. And I've taken up interval sprinting in the park.
I was previously a gym guy but I don't think it's necessary for me now. Plus, packing a gym bag, driving there, getting changed and finding the equipment that I want to use.Its just a barrier. I can get stuff done without wasting half an hour of my day.

RE: I can't be myself with the people around me. Is that bad?
@Whatever77 I have been in a place where I felt like I needed to please people to keep them happy or feel right within myself. It was actually toxic for me and the built up feelings of angst were burning me out. It took a long time to realise that it's a futile endeavour.
There is a problem with that environment. People shouldn't expect us to bend to their whim all time but equally if we allow it by not trying be our authentic self then people will generally not try to help us change. The answer for me was in my self talk. I had to change the way I see myself and not be threatened by other people.
I don't know if your situation is similar or not. But I do know that emotionally you can't go through life trying to please other people without paying the price in your own mental or emotional stability
Edit: And props to you for talking about it openly. That's a great step towards dealing with a problem
