I think to a certain extent yes, it becomes infuriating to talk to someone who is constantly ignorant, but it really depends on the persons' disposition as well. People who are smart and have a bad disposition are unlikely to have a lot of friends. People who aren't smart but always think they know everything are likely to have the same result. For me personally, as long as someone is making the effort to understand even if they don't really understand I'm okay being their friend as long as we are just talking intelligence wise.
