Alright , if nobody knew i used to be a game dev but i did quit because i had no friends so my point was a bit missing , and i'm going back to be a game dev , but this post isn't about that , ever wanted to be a gamedev? never had the money? don't have any skill or talent? don't know how to code? ; then no worries because you can still become a gamedev , all software and platforms listed below are completely free , no payments overtime etc.

1 - The Game Engine : you can't make a game without the Engine , I recommend : Godot [if you can code] , if you can't code check GDevelop [only 2d] out

2 - Design : now that you have your Game Engine the design is important , first you have to choose between 2D / 3D , for 3D modelling check Blender out , and if you can't do 3d modelling use TurboSquid for royalty free models , for 2D i recommend Gimp or Krita for vectors Inkscape if you can't draw i would suggest itch.io assets

3 - Music : for producing music for your game i recommend LMMS , or for downloading it for free i recommend : Dig CCMixter

4 - Sound Effects : okay you will need to know "Foley Art" for this one [recreating sounds with everyday items] , for editing the audio i recommend Audacity and for downloading i recommend soundbible

5 - publishing : so your game's done , now where do you publish it for free ; i reccommend Itch.io or Gamejolt

Alright , another question i get a lot is why I use Linux? , so as usual i will answer it here instead of anywhere else :3 , and also maybe inspire to switch over to Linux

So let's get straight into it

As we all know companies such as Google love to spy on us and sell our data , but so does Microsoft , and Windows is from Microsoft , and i believe OS shouldn't spy on you , and thanks to Linux being free & open source it ain't spying on you , as Edward Snowden said "you don't fully understand the importance of privacy , until you've lost it"

Some people will say that Linux isn't user friendly which is a huge lie , nowadays you don't even have to use the terminal , and if you do you can just Copy & Paste the commands

So for who all is suitable Linux?

For gamers : yes it is , even though it used to be incopatible with most games today it runs a lot natively and Wine / Lutris and DirectX to Vulcan conversion exists so you can run almost all games you think og

For everyday use : yes

For everyone : Y E S

and recently Linux got more popular than Windows , and there's a lot of reasons you should use it on a desktop , and it runs faster , here are my Distro recommendations:

For old hardware / bad pcs : Linux Mint MATE / Ubuntu MATE

For Gaming : SteamOS / Linux Mint MATE / Linux Mint Cinnamon

For Scientific Purposes : Scientific Linux

For Windows users switching over to Linux : Linux Mint [any desktop interface]

For MacOS users switching over to LInux : ElementaryOS

For those who can't choose : Ubuntu [ any desktop interface]

5 - there are alternatives for TOR , while TOR is focused on deep web mostly there's i2p which focuses on darknet/darkweb more and Freenet which focuses on journalism

6 - .onion urls are usually strings of random numbers and letters so don't bother memorizing them

7 - i2p is good choice for messaging anonymously because it's like a network within a network within a network unlike TOR

8 - a lot people confuse Deep Web with Darknet / Darkweb , while Deep Web isn't that much of a big deal Darknet / Darkweb usually is very scary and disturbing

9 - there used to be a forum for cannibals and those who wanna be eaten by cannibals

10 - there's a myth about redrooms , you can't confirm it legitely but it was also slightly confirmed , and there was an ISIS redroom where they tortured an ISIS member with bacon and stuff it's actually availible on LiveLeak

@what-is-this first of all , i focused on the Golden Gaming Age , Witcher 3 is from 2015 , and 2015 fucked up everything , and mostly the graphics ruin the game , mostly by the fucking slow loading

as we all know the Golden Era of Gaming ended in 2011 , and 2015 killed any chances of it returing , let me talk about some of the good old games , which i still play , and everyone should check them out and also problems i have with new era of gaming

1st topic : graphics
oh graphics , i hate them , they make the games load longer , and are useless , so fun > graphics

2nd topic : general gameplay
let's be honest , the gameplay mostly sucks nowadays , remember good storylines? , those are rare today , but to keep it short i won't go too in-depth

3rd topic : fun
alright , since graphics became a big thing , it's not even that fun , I remember fucking around in games and just playing them having fun , today i just launch GTA 5 and turn it off immidiately , so this will end the complains now straight to the good games

S.T.A.L.K.E.R series
Oh boy , the best game i ever played , the S.T.A.L.K.E.R from shadow of chernobyl to clear sky , loved all of them , now that S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 is coming out big shout outs to the makers of this game , and i don't even think S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 will be that good , but i'll check it out and maybe make a thread about it , overall the best game there is , go buy it or just download it right now and play it , you won't regret it , great story line , awesome shooter action and vodka that saves you from radiation

Metro 2033
If I had to include stalker , i can't forget Metro 2033 , there's really nothing much to say about it except it's really similiar to s.t.a.l.k.e.r and since s.t.a.l.k.e.r is THE BEST POST-APOCALYPTIC game there is and I just really love it <3 , overall metro is a good shooter

Bioshock
I can't forget Bioshock , the legendary shooter game with one of the best storylines you can find , i loved it , also 2K australia developed it , and as the patriot that i am , shoutouts to them

Portal
The great puzzle game , valve did a great job developing it , with amazing storyline and jokes this game made it on the 4th place
