RE: Life Itself
@mario-fan If you are willing to offer a counter argument, please proceed, I'm not going to stop a civilized debate. However, if you are too lazy to even state why you disagree with me, please remove yourself.

RE: Hitler killed 6 million Jews & he was a Christian. Does that mean all Christians are Killers & Terrorists?
@alwaysstranger Just out of curiosity, what do you mean by "anti-thiest"? Someone who is against religions? If so, I believe we are on the same page.

RE: Do you think that humans as a species have gotten better through the generations or worse? Why?
@alwaysstranger I've watched those already. And to a degree, I would disagree with how they project violence in the 21st century. Wars are evolving. Sure, there are less direct confrontations between nations but there is a constant threat of a nuclear war between North Korea and the rest of the world.

RE: Life Itself
If you asked about 700 years ago, I would have responded with to expand the human population and move forward as a species but... that's no longer the case, is it?

RE: Life Itself
@mario-fan So you're an existentialist.

@alwaysstranger Not really, considering the fact that NK just shot a missile over Japan yesterday, I would say the situation is worse than it was during the Cold War.

Better and worse is subjective. It is only a matter of perspective. Have we advanced as a species and evolved to be more efficient than other species? Sure. Does that make us better? Not necessarily.

RE: Life Itself
No, there is no good reason to live. It is that simple.

RE: What's your opinion on Love?!
Why is it funny for people to have different opinions regarding an instinctive and primitive approach to human interactions caused by chemical reactions in everyone's brains? Why is it funny for people to have different definitions for emotions? Feelings that cannot be measured quantitatively and can only be described qualitatively. Why do you seem surprised that people cannot directly compare their experiences like converting between stocks and different currencies? The world is not as simple as it appears but also not as complicated as many make it out to be.

RE: Hitler killed 6 million Jews & he was a Christian. Does that mean all Christians are Killers & Terrorists?
Welllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll, saying Hitler single-handedly killed 6 million jews is a bit of an exaggeration. Not only did he receive large amounts of support from followers and members of his party, the entire SS division was dedicated to the cause without question. Also, Hitler was never much of a Christian to begin with. His only affiliation with the church was after WWI when he became involved in politics which required him to be on good terms with the majority of the German population at the time with were of course Catholics. So, no, just because Hitler killed a bunch of Jews does not mean all Christians are killer. And no, I am not defending Christians because I am one myself. I'm an atheist.

RE: Google ruined my budding friendship
There's always more people to come across. you technically will never know if an event had a positive or negative impact on your life. If you got to talk to them, they might turn out to be someone that will lead you down the wrong path in life. They might cause something unrelated to happen and cause anything between a loss of property to a loss of life. This is the fucked up part of determinism. Everything must happen in a predetermined manner as everything is the result and a reaction to past actions.

RE: wonderful to watch
What is (the Abrahamic) God? Simple, something that cannot exist as it is; one, not a person and it by definition was not born and does not die and; two, is defined in a way that contradicts itself. Can God make a boulder so heavy and he himself cannot lift it? Regardless of what you answer, your "God" is not all powerful and all capable. Therefore, contradicting the basic definition of itself.
"But Jesus looked at them and said, 'With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.'" ~ Matthew 19:26 ESV
