We are emotional and sensory creatures endowed with reason and free will, still dominating our most primitive impulses guided by selfishness.
In a perfect world the quality of these emotions would lead us to harmony and justice. Our sensory experiences lead to diverse emotions and lead to decision making. With higher scores of empathy allied to rationality we would be able to make fair decisions, for in an idealized world of perfection there would be no pride and selfishness, which are the source of ignorance. Ignorance gives rise to evil, which is the absence of good.
