A keen eye for... grammar?
After seeing the recent topics, such as the one regarding... armpit smelling, I must confess, I got kind of discouraged to make a topic, as I vehemently acknowledge that I would never manage to beat it.
Jokes aside, I have pondered upon this question few days ago, after asking an acquaintance of mine how he feels about emojis during chatting, to which he replied with strong feelings of repulsiveness, because it takes away the expresiveness, the liberation of one another. And I can totally agree on that.
However, this topic is all about the grammatical mistakes, the misspelled words and misplaced commas, the overused ellipsis and so on. Is grammar a determining factor when engaging into conversations, does it say anything to you about a chatting partner? We can get into the empathetic side and understand that it is not the primarily spoken language for the majority, or into the protocol of efficiency, where you want your thoughts to be be understood and delivered as fast as possible, yet that defies the purpose of chatting "properly", doesn't it?

RE: Question on Indian people.
@AliceBoo Tried to find an answer to this myself, all I've gotten from them was some insults in hindi. My speculation, however, is related to them being less mentally advanced than your average human, thereby their instincts are more emphasized, more revealing. Eager to become turbulent, to reproduce. There's a reason for them being known for their, ahem, quick sexual appropiation. Once again, it is folly to throw all of them in the same pot, it is just most of them that are so.

RE: A keen eye for... grammar?
@Janet A duel you will not have! I will ensure my win either by pointing out that it is your primary language or that you are older, thereby you had more time to prepare for this very moment. Ensuring my victory through cowardice, you know me. Unless you were suggesting some other kind of duel.
@kaia_ I am afraid I have to pass on that, I've already spoken to her and she's a fast talker, I can hardly keep up, especially if I do not have the keyboard typing advantage. As for the mistake seeking problem, I cannot help but agree. What truly worked wonders for me was having a lot of chats at that time, learning words through the hard way at times - using them before knowing their meaning, especially for the term "whore". Chatting often results in sharing knowledge and, truth be told, saya tidak keberatan belajar bahasa ini.

RE: Question on Indian people.
@AliceBoo I wouldn't advise traveling alone due to... Obvious reasons haha.
@freethinker22 Tried to find more regarding the book, however it is not quite one of those books you see everywhere. I did, however, manage to get through certain parts of it, thank you for sharing. I do like the "privately smart and publicly dumb" concept, but is it not, once again, the inability to acknowledge the greater good? The author points to selfishness as the main factor for specific behaviors, which I do not agree with - through selfishness, the results would be in their favor, something that does not truly happen. -
RE: A keen eye for... grammar?
@kaia_ My apologies if my text instilled an attitude of an almighty writer, I was merely curious whether others take proper grammar into consideration when talking to, well, others. I am far from beheading people for their mistakes, especially when it comes to something I do not master myself. Yet, look at yourself, you have well-written posts, sentences you put effort into (at the very least, that is the inkling I get), thereby I assume that you do take it into account - not to the level where you judge people, but rather where you appreciate it. Oh, and as a side-note, correcting one's grammar is but a blessing, free foreign language classes!
@Janet Yes, yes, that is the efficiency I was talking about. In environments where time is an issue, it totally seems legitimate. However, if all you do is chat on a chatting website, where is the rush? I might understand yours based on your age - sorry haha.

RE: 3 THINGS TO DO TO KEEP YOUR SANITY DURING THE PANDEMIC
Based on the amount of uppercase letters that you have used in the title, I believe it is too late for you.
Some (including me, to a certain degree) have it easier, as they did not "rely" on others to make their lives full before the whole fiesta. But even I tend to find myself in need of new, fresh air. It is communication, relationships that keep me sane (plenty of people might argue my sanity). Thereby, I highly support spending time with those you can. And if not, let hobbies and passions fill the void of socialization. -
RE: Man gotta love talking with people when it happens
I get kind of jealous reading this, my 1 on 1 conversations often begin and end with "r u m or f".

RE: Just Looking for a little emotional support/perspective
@somedumbguy @Dang-girl Glad you appreciated my frame of mind!
It is, indeed, a nightmare to deal with difficult people, especially if you cannot find any reasoning beneath their actions. The other day, I was called toxic for showing disapproval to someone's opinion, despite the fact that all I have said was expressed in a proper manner. I kept thinking and reiterating the conversation and I couldn't find what word choices were unfit. Then I remembered this one quote from Nicholas Humphrey, "To speak the truth among people who do not want to hear it is considered almost an aggressive act – an invasion of privacy, a trespass into someone else's space. Not nice, not done...". If she is resilient enough to reject any thoughts coming from external sources, try making her find the answer from the inside.
Do not consume yourself with such fights - this is not the first and I can very much guarantee that it will not be the last either. Instead, cherish the moments you can. We all are blinded by these very moments of pride, where it takes over and we instantly feel the urge to slash through the skin and flesh of those we cared and had so much appreciation for a while back. Might have been her catalyst to lie and betray, might be your way to focus on her flaws and not the moments you liked her presence.
I clearly am not an advocating for letting such an incident fade away without getting to a clear explanation, for there's always something to learn through them. Yet there is enough poison in the world, it doesn't need ours. I still am curious to know what phrases were misinterpreted and what they meant to her. -

RE: Just Looking for a little emotional support/perspective
I don't have a single clue how the message you tried to send was misinterpreted, you really are expressive and open with what you feel. Don't exasperate, all this... chaos has originated from miscommunication, there is no evil intent. I would give it some time and then attempt to explain the whole situation, what you truly meant to say.
As for the lie and betrayal from her side, I know it is infuriating. I would totally lose my interest to even live close to someone who would grab your hand just to drag you in the hole they are. However, give them the benefit of the doubt, settle all of this with a conversation, you have to understand her perspective as well. What you said must have striked her insecurities, otherwise I couldn't explain myself why there is so much bad blood from some remarks that could be taken as condescending, it truly is folly to entirely deny someone close over that. -
