What is the best gift you ever got?

When I was 12 I got an amazing telescope for Christmas. I had always been into Astronomy and really wanted it. To this day that gift always sticks out in my head. I remember looking at the moon, then Mars, then seeing Saturns Rings for the first time.. then the moons of Jupiter.

What gift have you received that sticks out fondly in your head?

My brother had a blue kangaroo and I had a little puppy with sad eyes... It was a gift from our grandmother. I still have both, and I was very happy when my brother decided I can have the kangaroo... Its just something I always was fond of , he is staying in my bed to this day and he reminds me of the days when we where sleeping in the 2 floor bed and we would play with our plushy toy's and make up stories before sleep.

I believe a gift needn't be materialistic. When I was in 4th standard I had a bestie. We used to play together, sit in class together, play pranks together, we did everything together.

Unfortunately, my dad had to shift to another city, so I had to leave her and go away. We used to talk on phone but back then STD calls were expensive, so initially we used to talk once or twice every month, before it reduced to once in 2-3 months. However my attachment towards her remained the same, and I used to miss her.

A few months later it was my birthday, and I was having a party with my new friends in the new city. And guess my reaction when she actually walked right in through the front door of my house 😂 I literally jumped up in shock like I had seen a ghost. We were only 11 or 12 years old back then, so this happened more than 10 years back, but I still remember every second of that moment.

Without a doubt, that has to be the best birthday gift and the best gift i have ever received. Sorry for the long answer 😁

Well, I don't think I could remember any gifts that were special or something as I only got what I wanted... And most were similar to novels, science related stuffs for basic experiments, encyclopedias,etc... And just the subject of interests changed.. gifts remained same😅. But if I had to say something that I liked then that would be how my 10 yr younger sibling saved his pocket money to buy a novel for me( he was still 8 yo that time... So I was quite surprised). That moment was quite memorable 😁

I really didn't get any gift. I just had to demand first to get something so I don't consider them as gift. And in birthdays people mostly gave chocolate bars . And I don't remember any other than that so it is not must be important.
But I thing clicked in my mind while reading this topic. My previous phone. I did a lot research before buy it. And when it arrived delivery guy also was curious to see it. Coz very few order that phone. So he opened it up. And I was surprised to see it had a fingerprint scanner!! I missed that feature even I researched about it and compared it with other phones.
So yeah it is the best gift I have so far.
