Hi guys. This is Troy. I am an international student from Asia. I have been living in the US for a few years. However, I don't have many American friends. A lot of people talk to me, but as the conversation keeps going I have nothing to talk about. I don't know what to talk about after I ask people's name, job, and some other basic stuff. I just run out of the topic.
I really want to get into the American culture. I volunteer every week and try to talk to as many people as I can, but every time as the time pass, I always run out of topic. Especially when I have a conversation with a girl, our conversation goes pretty well at the beginning, but after I know her name, what school she goes to, and her major, I don't know what to talk about. So girls just sit next to me and stare at me. I just keep silence, and then she walks away. Those sad stories about me and a girl happens all the time.
Well, I am not a nerd. I don't consider myself is a nerd, and I consider myself is a 7/10 guy(I was 5, but I've workout for a few months, that can give me two extra credits, no arugre). I like hiking, backpacking, kayaking, cooking, running, swimming, gaming and so on. I am not a 500 LB fat guy, I almost get myself an 8-pack. I just don't know what to talk after I get the information about a person. Even though I am still working on my English, I can follow most people's talking.
Can you be my friend : )
AND let the conversation begins!
