RE: Immortality and ethical dilemmassss concerning it 😂
@Lime said in Immortality and ethical dilemmassss concerning it 😂:
And what do you think are some of the ethical dilemmas associated with pursuing immortality? If immortality is made possible in the near futureeee, would social injusticeee and overpopulation become issueeeess? How would being immortalll alter our perspectivesss on life and death, as well as viewsss on suicide and euthanasiaaa?
Immortality could be a possibility in the future, Lime, but it likely won't happen until billions of years later. I think that humans might even become extinct before we have a chance to do it, Some ethical dilemmas are that we might all die or not have the technology to be able to become immortal. Also what kind of immortality are you talking about, Lime? For example, we could replace broken down body parts with robotic ones in a way that will extend life, though we still need to make sure that we know exactly how death works. Does the heart die? Does the brain? What exactly is death? There is one current species that is technically "immortal" known as the Turritopsis dohrnii or Immortal Jellyfish, that gets it's name from the way it reproduces an empty body for it to "put it's soul into". It's kind of hard to explain, but just search it up. Also overpopulation could really mess this up.
Hope I didn't just do your essay thing, Limey. 😂 -
