I liked how you put TWSabove every other BIG social media... xD Apart from that pun, that is indeed an interesting topic.
When I was a kid, I remember spending days out, playing on the streets, either football, basktball, you name it. Nowadays, not only it's more dangerous to do that but also kids seems to get more entertained with a tablet/laptop then a football.

With that said, for a weirdo like me, internet is a good 1st approach to met new ppl which eventually may lead to some good/quality IRL time spent together!
