I am neither pro or anti gun. People want to blame a tool for how people use it. The problem is not the tool, but the poor attitude and lack of respect and empathy for someone else's life, liberty and property. That said, if you remove guns from the equation then the people without the will power and respect for life, liberty and property would have a more difficult time performing their cowardly acts. Several other countries in the world have large percentages of their populations that own guns, but a fraction of the gun violence. So again, it's not the tool. It's the fool with the tool.

Assault or not assault
I am requesting opinions on four scenarios, one of which is true.
- A group of high school boys attending an after school activity, bring an airsoft pistol into the school with them. They corner an unsuspecting fellow male student and proceed to shoot him, with the airsoft pellets, in the back, butt, chest and genital area. Then the pistol is pointed directly at his eye and threatened to have his eye shot out.
- A group of high school girls attending an after school activity, bring an airsoft pistol into the school with them. They corner an unsuspecting fellow female student and proceed to shoot her, with the airsoft pellets, in the back, butt, breasts and genital area. Then the pistol is pointed directly at his eye and threatened to have her eye shot out.

Is there any perceived difference in the scenarios due to sex of the perpetrators and the victims?
Is it bullying, assault, sexual assault, criminal or just a prank gone to far in each of the cases?
