RE: Should the death sentence still be a thing?
@wtfjudith Supporters of the death penalty often posit arguments that cite retribution for violent crimes as being instrumental in justice. However, several studies and research have show that taking the life of another human being through capital punishment only perpetuates a cycle of violence. Furthermore, other research has shown that flaws in our justice system has led to innocent being prosecuted, guilty being set free, and a plethora of other biases being present during capital punishment cases. While executions spiked in 2015, they were counterbalanced by a spate of abolitions. Four countries abolished the death penalty for all crimes – the highest number to do so in the space of one year for almost a decade. These developments are a clear indication that the trend towards abolition remains strong.
Today, 103 countries have turned their backs on the death penalty for good. Those that continue to execute are a tiny minority standing against a wave of opposition.
There are countless arguments for and against the death penalty. In an imperfect world where we can never be sure we have ever got the “worst of the worst” is it ever justified to take a life?

RE: DIFFERENTIATE BETWEEN MY OLDEST TOPICS AND LATEST TOPICS ....
@cutie-cat leaving secondary school and entering postsecondary study is a big adjustment for many students. If your student is aware of some of these differences, they will be better prepared for the changes in attitudes and behaviours necessary for success. Some of the differences between high school and university are as follows:
Classes are usually larger than those in secondary school and there are many more students on the university campus.
Students are responsible for making their own class schedules and following them conscientiously.
Instruction is primarily through lecture format with students taking notes independently.
Familiarity with library resources and effective use of libraries is essential.
Student progress and attendance is not generally closely monitored by instructors.
Students need to be self-directed and are expected to be independent.
There is, generally, less ongoing contact with instructors and less individual attention unless initiated by students.
There are fewer hours of in-class time and many more hours of homework and independent study per course.
Classes may have a lab or tutorial session located in a different room or building, and may be facilitated by a teaching assistant.
Professors and teaching assistants often hold office hours each week for students to drop in to chat or ask questions about assignments and class topics.
Course textbooks or required readings are not provided by the University; they must be purchased from a bookstore or borrowed from a library.
Not all course materials are in the form of textbooks, they may be individual scholarly articles that students will need to locate in academic journals available in the libraries.
Group projects are often required so students need to work well with others.
Grades can often be based on only two or three test results, or a major essay/project and a few exam results.
Time management and planning are critical to success. Procrastination can lead to serious academic difficulties.
Failing to meet progression requirements and/or failing two or more courses may result in being asked to withdraw from the program and from the University. -
RE: SHOULD EUTHANASIA BE MADE LEGAL?
Euthanasia is categorized in different ways, which include voluntary, non-voluntary, or involuntary. Voluntary euthanasia is legal in some countries. Non-voluntary euthanasia (patient's consent unavailable) is illegal in all countries. Involuntary euthanasia (without asking consent or against the patient's will) is also illegal in all countries and is usually considered murder.
According to me early termination of life is a crime, be it by suicide or helping one commit suicide. The various positions on the cessation of medical treatment are mixed and considered a different class of action than direct termination of life, especially if the patient is suffering. Suicide and euthanasia are both crimes. -
RE: Abstract or Realistic art?
I like Abstract art more than Real art. Abstract art gives me an opportunity to explore in all directions, allow my imaginations to run wild. It gives me a chance to escape from reality. Another best thing about Abstract art which I like is that the beauty of abstractness totally depends on perceiver. It depends on my perception and thus one can not assign any fixed meaning to it. I may find something in it which others can not perceive thus make it totally free from the concept of labelling or assigning any meaning to it. I think that's the true purpose of art to free me from boundaries and let my imagination run wild.

Artificial Intelligence: Better Than Human?
Modern advances in computers have taken artificial intelligence to stunning new levels. If computers can learn and think better than we can, will that threaten our humanity?

RE: Whats your zodiac sign?
My zodiac sign is libra and snake in chinese horoscope. Fast details about libra and snake👇
Libra are kind, gentle and lovers of beauty, harmony and peace.
Libras are artistic, stylish and enjoy creating a beautiful world. The converse of this is that bored Libras can become apathetic and lazy -- but they'll smile anyway.
People who born in the Year of the Snake according to Chinese zodiac are usually well-educated, decent, smart and humorous. They can be brilliant artists, political leaders, as well as great thinkers, such as Gandhi, Goethe, Kennedy, and Picasso and they are extremely romantic people. Whatever they do in life is driven by the feelings of love. Frankly speaking is that i dont believe in astrology. -
RE: What should I do when I feel lonely?
Loneliness, albeit a natural feeling, is not something most people want to experience. Studies have shown that poor sleep and lack of physical activity are correlated to feelings of loneliness so here are some advice on how to avoid loneliness
-reading regularly
-Playing a sport
-Painting
-Gardening
-Look for good hikes in your area, or simply explore a new park.
Try going kayaking or on a bike ride, if you’re not interested in just walking around.
-Adopt a pet
Keep in mind that getting a pet is a big responsibility, and does require a large amount of time and care.
-Go for coffee or to a cafe
-Take a walk through a local park
Run errands together (specifically with a close friend/family member)
-Going to a music festival or other related event
-There are certain foods particularly fruits and vegetables that contain hormones that increase happiness.
Just a few advice to avoid loneliness
