Absolutely, Garageband is a much better bet. I, being a long time user, can surely recommend to you to shift to Garageband as is offer much superior performance and features that any other music production apps. There is one catch though, Garageband is only available for MacOS I think, so if you have a windows machine, I don't believe you will be able to run it.
