If you are a mother/or father and your daughter tried to jump from a 10 story builidng, you stop her but she does not listne, you warn her, but she still wants to jump? As a father, to stop her from doing that, will you hit her being kind ? Yes you will !

So watch this and this will answer your question, It is just s symbolic way of warning thw wife, it is NOT PHYSICALLY TORTURING OR BEATING.

The quran which you have in your hand is again transalted in english by normal humans like you who can make mistakes. I told you clearly its wrong word used while translation, read the conclusion ending paragraph before making judgements.

it says strike them out of your house if they disobey you. It does not instruct to stirke them or beat them. The guys have have made the english translation have used the wrong words.
