Hello @Linda-nolen !
Personally, I love to play a role, change my first name, my style of dress...
In general, I base myself on my own character traits that I bring out as much as possible. It's easy, because I have a multi-faceted personality (and a little bit of exuberance). It's more or less serious. For me it's like theatre, it's a game, but you have to be convincing ! However, I never forget who I really am. I don't betray people I hold in esteem.
On your side, if you talk about it, it must be because you feel that your relationship with role-playing is not healthy.
Why do you play a role ? : Is it because of a lack of self-confidence ? You don't think you're good enough the way you are to be loved by people ?
Do you even really know who you are deep down ? Maybe you idealize girls you see on social networks, for example, and think it would be better if you were like her ?
I think you should dig deeper into that.
If that's the case, don't bother trying to be someone else. It's tiring and I doubt you're really happy like that. You're you, that's good enough. Besides, people who are observant must have guessed your little trick. And it's not nice to be misjudged.
I hope you'll find a solution.
