Wrote this quite a while back, and wasn't able to locate it for Easter-time, but...better late than never? Probably not. Here it is, anyway.
Jelly Beans Are Not My Friends
A short rhyme
Jelly beans are not my friends,
I don't ever want to eat them.
And if I'm wandering out late at night,
I hope that I won't meet them.
Jelly beans are not my friends,
and I can tell you why:
Once when i was very small
a jelly bean made mommy die.
She put one in her mouth and choked,
and gagged and turned all blue.
And though i don't eat jelly beans,
that day i was blue, too.
Dad put mommy in a box,
and covered up the lid,
and dug a hole, and put her in,
and me, I went and hid.
I cried and cried and then i stopped,
but to this very day,
just the thought of jelly beans
can blue up my whole day.
Jelly beans are not my friends,
I gag at just the thought.
I'm just a little curious about
the bunch my daddy bought.
He tries to sneak them in my lunch,
he adds them to my dinner.
I'm so suspicious of my meals,
I'm really getting thinner...
Jelly beans are not my friends
I should talk to a priest, or...
find myself in a box next to mom,
the day right after Easter!
