@thatcutechick Sadly there is something buried in the psyche of too many... they aren't getting their sexual kicks irl and so find small gestures such as that perverse and very inappropriate turn-ons (unless the pics are solicited, of course, that is a separate thing). What they don't realise is that the reason they aren't getting any irl is because they have the kind of shining personalities that let them think it is okay to send unsolicited dick pics 🤦‍♂️

@Cree It's entertaining. On the one hand my Dad was in a car accident round the corner from my house so I've been helping sort that and making sure he is okay/has coffee in the aftermath, and on the other I've got the girl who let me down for our first date last weekend and who has been mostly ignoring me whilst she chats up other guys all week realising I know what she's been up to getting caught out lying to me about it then messaging me all day distraught that we are "over" 🤦‍♂️

I mean, as Saturdays go it has definitely been different, and I like that.

@King-Dex Respectfully, are you aware you're saturating/spamming the forums? Your topics are currently over two-thirds of the entire content being produced here. I count around 38 new topics just in the last day.

I totally wouldn't want you to disappear and I hope you take this the way it is intended; you've got some good ideas and it is genuinely refreshing to have some different things in the forums for a change. And maybe others would disagree with me I'd love to hear if people think I'm wrong.

But maybe... ease up a little? Before people get a little overwhelmed and tired of this site being almost all one user's content? Love and peace.

@sarcasm I'd say the little things such as getting food dropped off ARE the more romantic. They're certainly the more thoughtful and meaningful, so I'll choose those.

@sarcasm I'd say not, but then my background includes the theatrical and pagan communities both of which are very tactile and huggy. I see why some people would consider it cheating but so long as my partner wasn't hiding anything and there were no agendas I wouldn't have an issue with it.

I read a great article recently about how it is primarily straight western male culture which has this aversion to platonic cuddling. You look to the Russian ballet schools and to the guys there it is perfectly normal for them to huddle together for warmth - and these are huge, hulking beasts of masculine energy. Or how in many far eastern cultures school ages males are growing up just as comfortable hugging and sitting on each other's laps as their counterparts.

The article went on to hypothesise that this aversion is directly responsible for two of western man's most toxic traits - i) the misassociation between sex and affection, along with the inability to express affection through alternate means, and ii) possessive jealousness over a partner's tactility with others, especially other males but even other female friends. Because they have been so touch-starved through their lives that once they get a partner in their life who they can touch, they don't know how normal touch should be and cannot process it.

@Dexter-Adams No I won't 😂 both have merit and both have flaws. The only point I'm making is that your criteria for what makes a show "quality" is flawed.

Really? You rate YouTube videos based on number of views - and you don't see anything wrong with that, it's a legit indicator of quality?? Gods help me where do I begin...

Okay. There are literally millions of people who click on YouTube videos every single day without knowing whether it is any good or not. Suggested links, top searches, recommendations, sponsored videos, these all promote certain YouTube videos above others and push their view tally up waaaaaaay above their competitors. Sometimes you might be looking for advice, a hack, a how-to, but the top hits when you search don't return what you need. You've still watched the video and been let down and it's still recorded a view, right? Clickbait videos alone are a whole sub-category guilty of this.

YouTube has an autoplay function as default, which needs disabling if you don't want to use it. So you pick a video you want to watch, maybe a music video to listen to in the background of whatever you're doing, then before you return YouTube may have played you 5, 10, even 20 more videos you would never have selected, may not particularly enjoy, and for which, again, every single one is recorded as a view. You really do not always only watch what you want to.

Subscribers? It sounds as though you suggesting that when a YouTube vlogger, influencer or such has a million subscribers following the quality of their content by default must be greater than content which requires more craft or art yet which only has a few thousand. Isn't is more conceivable (and comforting?) to think that this is more a matter of i) coverage and ii) generally speaking to do with the types of people who are likely to watch YouTube, watch these specific sorts of video, and to subscribe?

You compare a medium of television, which has been a steadfast of most homes for the best part of a century and which all generations and classes use and can relate to, to a specific platform used online and which most people over a certain age will never use. Therefore the content on YouTube which is provided for them is inherently disadvantaged by your rating system, as it's demographic is quite simply not present in the same numbers as the competition.

I feel as though if I haven't yet highlighted enough how daft your analogy is I never will, so I'm going to stop there.
