damn, they seem to be one of few metal participants there lol. So weird to see them in these sorta festival not those heavy asf ones.
You a new fan?
I am you
A great philosopher said, ''If I say you there is an invisible man in the sky, people will believe on them but if I say them a painting is dry they will touch it for confirming themselves.''
Simply putting out a stupid social/psychological trend have no relevance to the paradox that comes with thinking of god nor verifying his existence.
Everything can be inferred with reasoning. He is invisible so why is he an exception here ?
Physical world is limited to the experience verified by our sense only. (like how you would touch paint to verify that its dry). God visited in the form of a human ages ago according to bible and other valid historical sources but we weren't there to use our senses to verify his existence (e.g. see him walk on water and heal people). Furthermore, god literally isn't in the clouds as bible says he is in 'enthroned in heaven'. So we physically can't see him.
But there is a spiritual realm, separate from the physical realm.
We cannot assume that everything imagined in mental experiences (which include dreams, hallucinations etc) actually exists. Such experiences cannot be repeated, tested or publicly verified. Mystical and other personal experiences can be explained by other causes.
You literally cancelled out all chance of there being a god as you suggested previously that there is no god in this physical world. If you put this physical 'dimension' as a reference point to verify whether or not something 'exists', you are not too far off from the Christians lining up every notion of right and wrong with a book.
I'd go ahead and say that the spiritual 'realm' is more confirmed as everybody in the world 'dreams', whilst not everybody feel the salvation of 'the lord'.
So yeah. Your reasoning requires a bit more work and we can work on mine (I'm sure you can point out some of mine) and urs if u want. Thanks for this discussion
God is more a concept. Everybody has their take on it.
Don't think reasoning is capable enough to do anything other than this line of thought by some philosopher.
-God 'as it is' is greater than your thoughts about him.
So its unreasonable to reason about god's existence as he will be greater than anything you think of.
ACTUAL facts about god only comes through some other dimension spirituality stuff you have to experience first hand
How is Billie Eilish good?
Vaping helps you quit smoking no doubt. Add some nicotine gum to increase chance.
However it doesn't stop you from being addicted to something unhealthy
Therefore you should start an addiction to healthy things instead or toughen up and suffer withdrawal, commit to quitting, relapse couple of time, feel bad about it, develop a negative perception of addictive 'substances' (most things we do are addictive by nature but its bad when its directly ruining you) and then lower desire to always feeling good every second of the day, then substitute with physically healthy addictive stuff (sports, gym) and mentally healthy addictive stuff (things with delayed satisfaction)
->One's idea of whats right and wrong mostly stems from the process of simulating the potential/retrospective outcomes one perceives.
<- Then if one perceives all, they will know whats right and wrong
-> Yes but that doesn't matter as people attach morals to emotion, not emotions to morals
<- Emotions to morals?
-> morals are what we value. What we value are what makes us feel. What makes us feel is the human experience i.e. the objective.
<- Then it doesn't matter what you attach to what, as the objective is the same
-> Yes but emotion limits one's ability to perceive. Attaching values to one emotions will result in more emotion of that kind which will limit one's ability to perceive anything other than that value attached to the emotion.
<- So one's perceiving ability is limited by the very mechanism which causes one perceive
-> Yes. One's moral dictates one's emotional capabilities
<- You explained that by attaching morals to emotion, you spiral to cycle of emotions dictating one's morals. Doesn't that make attaching emotions to morals impossible?
->Yes as emotions were there first. There cannot be a moral without emotions to begin with
<- Then our perspective is shaped by our emotions as it decides whats right and wrong
-> Yes. Therefore Morals aren't absolute.
Lets say absolutes exist in something being correct or incorrect.
That means that determining whats right and wrong is the incorrect way to decide whats actually right and wrong (correct & incorrect). Therefore the subjective reality is really determined by what you perceive (including influences from others). Therefore, being able to go beyond this perception which ultimately determines desire therefore values (moral) allows you to isolate the part of you is actually perceiving the real time reality (which is usually mixed in proportion with the ego [perceiving])
We are therefore Dual beings. And that's an absolute
I think if you have control over your mind, you can persevere through most hard things.
like having good impulse control over addictive behaviors (constant social media usage for example) is the start. Then you slowly become self aware of addictive thoughts (social judgement for example) then you start controlling that.
Now, the only way it seems to actually CONTROL (misleading word) is to actually just stop doing it. Then you keep doing NOT doing it then it becomes a lifestyle. Then your brain will be hardwired to be self sufficient and truly independent --> you become a superhuman?
if you get there, you can then actually do long term gratification things rather than bunch of small nothings.
So, to sum up,
you identify addictive behaviors
you identify addictive thoughts stemming from the behavior
you detach/let go/stop doing whatever it is
you get used to not doing these very very fun and bad stuff for long enough
you are more able to persevere through long term projects in life (however, relapse is possible)
its not that you control anything, its that you aren't controlled by anything
the mind has its limit as well, just like our body
