A poem for someone

  • One Word

How do you say that one word?
How is my little birthday bird?
    How does she not know,
    the depth of this word?

    No she doesn't know,
    no she does not see...
    No she cannot hear,
    the words coming from me.

But You my God, you know,
    You my God, you see,
    what You created in me.

In the morning, You open my heart,
to greet You with a smile.
And I like to be with You for a while.

    Because You gave Your word,
    and You took my heart,
    and you imprinted this word.

    You make me pray,
    You make me care,
    You make me hurt.

    You make me worry,
    You make me kneel,
    You make me burn.

    You my Lord alone,
are the cause of this disease,
and yet all I have for you,
    is Love.

    And a love like this,
forms a prayer on my lips,
    on every day,
that her feet may find Your way.

    When will her heart open,
    will ever come the day,
    that she smiles at me,
    when I walk her way?

How do you say that one word?
How is my little birthday bird?
    How does she not know,
    the depth of this word?
