• It is very hard to show that any new form of government is superior to that practiced now. It is even harder to show that any new form of government is superior to any practiced ever.

Nonetheless, unless these problems are not just hard but actually unsolvable, innovation in the form of government is possible. It is worth noting that government in history has ever encouraged its subjects to believe that it could be innovated away. Which is a rather straightforward explanation of the fact that few have ever believed it possible. Which does not make the proposition true, but does suggest one way in which it could be true.

Let me tell you what I think a state is: a form of order. An order always tends to evolve into chaos, simply by the fact of the environment changing. Politicians don't recognize what needs to be done. Others do. Hopefully they will be voted for.

And it is even worse, the more immoral a people becomes, the more immoral it's government becomes, even if this government is a monarch... yap, evil breads evil. always. period.

And our form of government, our democracies, they were never ideal (as in really behaving in the people's will), and they have evolved to a point, where you can in many places say, that there is no democracy anymore. Like the US, where you need to be a millionaire to be able to make a campain and stay true to your values (and not have to take rich people's values just to fund your campain...). The system is rigged, in the US most definitely. But that doesn't mean it cannot be fixed.

So what I think is, that every system always needs innovation. Democracy, or the idea, that souveranity is with the individual, is a great ideal. I mean do you want souvereignty with anybody other than you? (Don't) be my guest then :yum:. However it's implementation needs constant improving, for also the forces of mammon and materialism work on constantly undermining this system – any system – for the powerful of course work on becoming ever more powerful.

So yeah. There certainly can be a better system. But any system that is not built on the idea of human rights and the souvereign individual will be worse.

  • @pe7erpark3r probably speaks true viz-a-viz the situation in the US. But here's the thing with my country, the UK:

Go to any crowd of people. Close your eyes. Spin round. Throw a stone. You'll almost certainly hit someone who doesn't work for a living, who's a dozen points removed from any kind of utilitarian or socially necessary life. They'll have money, but it will have been accrued through financial chicanery, or the power of suggestion: something that never really involved working in tangible industry. With that kind of electorate, you're never going to have a government that's good for a F thing.

If you're asking me what kind of cool government will arise in the future, post-apocalypse? Dunno. Let's hope: (projects telepathic image of Pepe the Frog in Hammer and Sickle shirt)

  • @Indrid-Cold I had written something here, but it has disappeared? sometimes tws really is not reliable :)

But I think I have a better reply now:

How about we – the TWSians create a new political system? Something that might actually work...

As a place to start... two places to start I see actually:

    1. we need a hierarchy of ideals, say Equal Human Dignity is definitely my candidate for the top...
    2. we should list the things that are wrong with our current systems, and order them again in a anti-value-hierarchy, from what has the greatest impact to what has the least impact on humanity's benefit...

  • @Indrid-Cold said in NEOCAMERALISM AND THE ESCALATOR OF MASSARCHY (MENCIUS MOLDBUG):

@pe7erpark3r I like both those ideas. That could've been me talking. I think if society made such a list of altruistic priorities, even if it turned out to be unrealistic and contrary to human nature, just the psychological impact of everyone signing it would put us on the right course. In any case, I'll suggest it to Carlos the Jackal next time I send him fan mail in chokey.

I made the topic, so far allaboutgay has proposed a homocracy and void basically told me to shut up and no longer think about politics. Maybe you have something more interesting to add :joy:
