A long way home

The door's lock noise waked him, but he didn't sleep. He was just somewhere else, not right here. And that 'click' returned him. While he was turning a key, he tried to remember that last two hours. Memories were stretching out like a chewing gum.
Sparkles in eyes or the stars on the sky? Ursa Major or Orion? As he moved forward through the channel's embankment, his breath was fulfilled with pleasant and heady air. And after the smoky bar, that air sounds pretty different.
It gave different forms and colors, than smoke gave.. Smoke clouds transformed to dragons, and they began to fight with each other. He was following them and observing this dance of life and death. He got out the notebook and tried to fix those beasts on the paper.. But a sign of passing by car, forced him to move quickly from it's way and he lost his notes in the waters of the channel. Dragons had already gone and he just so their tails hiding among the roofs..
After all it is a good luck to see a dragon nowdays. The rare gift of the fate.
But on the other side, he required now a new notebook. Old notes and sketches drowned in the void, and he had to start
from the beginning. The door need to be open, and key need to be turned.

Open question, as it depends on what kind of time measure are you using. An hour can be a single moment, a second can be an eternity. And an evening can be ever after

@ADeadGhost But this story is not about you. And even not about me
Why not to grant a good evening for someone, and make him/her happy for a little period of time.
